3 Keys to Facebook Ads

shutterstock_375341206.jpgFacebook has become one of the largest social media networks. With its simple and multiple user interfaces, many people, from teenagers to grandparents, are on board. This is great for marketers as the potential for its reach is huge. Here are 3 key factors to keep in mind when creating Facebook Ads.

Targeted Reach

“Right place at the right time.” This is the goal of your targeted reach. Understand the audience you are targeting for your ads to hit at the right time of day. People are on and off Facebook throughout the day so to get the best value for your money, you must know your target market. Start with basic demographics. Ask yourself questions such as, “What age group do I want to target? Do I want to just target a specific city, the entire United States or worldwide? Do I know the income range I want to target? While there are many other questions you may ask yourself, these are some of the basics you should know before creating your Ads.

“On average more than 1.59 billion people log into Facebook every month.”

Deep Engagement

How engaged is your audience? What is the main purpose of your Facebook ad? Whether it is to gain traffic to your website, more likes to your page, or even boost your posts, your audience will determine this. Having quality fans and developing quality content will help solidify your company page. Don’t be afraid to invite your friends to like your company page. They may know someone else who just might be interested in your marketplace.

“We have found that 1 out of every 5 minutes on mobile is spent either within Facebook or Instagram.”

Proven Results

Are your goals being reached? Gauge whether your Facebook ads are working and adjust accordingly. This process will mostly be trial and error, as adjusting your target audience will not happen overnight. It may take a few different campaigns to gain some traction. It is best practice to make three different variations of the same ad, with slightly different copy and pictures. Don’t be discouraged if your campaign does not give the return you had hoped for. Make adjustments and run another campaign. Find what works for your specific audience and focus in on them.

While Facebook Ads have many different features, starting with the basics is always recommended. You want to be able to reach as many people as possible for the set budget you have made. Understanding your target audience is very important to get the best “bang for your buck.”
