Celebrating Success: Wrapping Up the First Semester at Szeged University
Tamás Simon | January 11, 2025
The first semester of our university-level course, Exploring PaaS for Dynamic Online Ventures, concluded in December 2024. Students’ feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Many shared that the course gave them a unique perspective on combining business strategy with technical execution—a skill set increasingly sought after in the tech world.
We designed this course to empower the next generation of developers and those aspiring to become technical leaders. Guest lectures by our experts, workshops, and platformOS-focused technical sessions added immense value to the curriculum, bridging the gap between academia and the real-world industry.
The results? Exceptional. The students didn’t just learn; they created, innovated, and delivered.
Instead of traditional exams, students were challenged to build real-world business applications using platformOS. These projects demonstrated their understanding of core concepts and their ability to implement scalable and innovative solutions on our platform.
Real-world applications: the best student projects
- EventConnect: A platform designed to enhance networking opportunities for event participants, simplify event scheduling and planning for organizers, and improve post-event follow-ups and connections for attendees.
- Taxify: A taxation assistant designed for managing crypto assets, addressing a critical market gap with a clear and coherent solution.
- Teacher Finder App: A platform that connects university students with tutors, featuring multilingual support and integration with platformOS’s Stripe Marketplace and Twilio Video API.
- Techcode: An innovative language-learning app focused on programming languages, with a standout user experience tailored for mobile devices.
- UX/UI Design from a Festival Attendee’s Perspective: A platform redesign to enhance festival attendees' experience, with improved navigation and iterative growth potential.
- Music Sharing Platform: A platform aimed at empowering new and upcoming artists, though it sparked valuable discussions on differentiation and market fit.
Our CTO and CEO evaluated each application based on functionality, scalability, user experience, and business viability. The results exceeded expectations, showcasing the students' impressive creativity and their deep understanding of user-centric design using platformOS’s capabilities.
Expanding horizons: Welcoming international students
Building on this semester’s success, we’re thrilled to announce that the course will be open to international students from next semester starting in February 2025. With platformOS as their foundation, international students attending SZTE-TTIK (University of Szeged Faculty of Science and Informatics) will now have the opportunity to take our English-taught classes, further expanding the course's reach and impact.
Looking ahead
We couldn’t be prouder of our first cohort of students. Their achievements set a high bar for future participants, and we’re excited to see what the next semester will bring. The course will continue teaching cutting-edge concepts and inspiring students to exceptional outcomes. It will introduce advanced topics, including AI-driven business solutions and deeper integrations with platformOS features.
We are also working on bringing this course to other universities to expand its impact and reach. Stay tuned for more updates as we shape the future of education and innovation with platformOS.
