Staying ahead of technological trends is crucial for aspiring developers and tech enthusiasts in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. As the world increasingly embraces Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions, the demand for practical, hands-on experience in this domain is also rising. To address this need, platformOS has joined forces with the University of Szeged, with the help of platformOS partner, origin/develop LLC, to launch an innovative new course, "Exploring PaaS for Dynamic Online Ventures," set to begin in the 2024/2025 academic year.

This course is a key component of a broader partnership between platformOS and the University of Szeged,which we have announced earlier this year. The collaboration aims to bridge the gap between academia and the tech industry, providing students with invaluable opportunities to learn directly from industry leaders. Earlier this year, platformOS Founder and CEO, Adam Broadway, kicked off this partnership with an inspiring presentation at the university, setting the stage for what promises to be a transformative educational experience.

Preparing for Tomorrow's Digital Challenges

"Exploring PaaS for Dynamic Online Ventures" is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in online product development. The course will focus on the practical application of PaaS environments, particularly on platformOS, a leading solution in the industry.

The course curriculum is carefully designed to offer a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience. During the semester, students will have the opportunity to explore various aspects of online product development in depth. This includes understanding workflows and processes, learning about UX Research & Design, by integrating user experience into development and planning user journeys, and exploring Application Development on platformOS, covering tools like the Pos-cli for deployment, routing, GraphQL integration, and building AI-powered search features. The course also highlights the benefits of Modular Architecture, contrasting it with monolithic designs while exploring platformOS modules like the user, profile, and admin modules.

Students will also learn about Developer Documentation through the Docs as Code approach, discovering how to manage documentation with DocsKit. Giving special attention to Web Accessibility & Sustainability, students will learn practical insights about accessibility tools and sustainability checkers. In addition, the course covers Quality Assurance (QA), introducing testing methods, defect tracking, and communication strategies within development teams. Finally, students will explore Selling PaaS & Digital Marketing, learning about techniques in SEO, SEM, content marketing, social media engagement, email automation, and how to use analytics for performance measurement.

As the semester progresses, students will apply what they've learned by creating a capstone project. This will require them to integrate technical, design, and marketing strategies, culminating in a final presentation showcasing their innovation and technical proficiency.
