Design Templates Update

We are excited to share that the Base template has been updated to ensure that the core elements are up to date. Here’s what’s new:

  • Updated Space Variables: Space variables are now defined as units, making them more versatile. They can be assigned to various elements, including spaces, sizes, paddings, font sizes, and line heights, etc.

  • Added Typography Variables: Texts and their properties (font family, font weight, size, line height) are now easier to modify and update within the file.

  • Mobile Versions for Typography Variables: As a trial, mobile-specific typography values have been introduced. This makes it easier to identify and adjust fonts that need to change on smaller devices.

  • Scoped Variables: Scoping was applied to some variables to ensure that specific options are listed only in relevant sections. For example, font size variables will appear only in the font setting section, avoiding unrelated areas like icon or card settings.

While these updates won’t result in visible changes to the templates, they significantly enhance usability and customization.

Docs as Code Fundamentals Course

Docs as Code Fundamentals course resuming with Module 2

As part of the Docs as Code Fundamentals course, we schedule webinars at the end of each module to engage with our audience and address their questions. We recently held our first webinar, and it was fantastic to connect with participants and answer questions about the first module’s topic: Docs as Code.

Thank you to everyone who joined the webinar, shared positive feedback about the course, and made it such a success! Following the first module, there has been a pause in the course due to other project commitments. However, we’re thrilled to announce that the course is resuming soon.

The first lesson of Module 2, Writing Your Content, will kick off with Lesson 1: Markup Languages. Stay tuned for more updates!

Update from UX – Strengthening the platformOS Community Solution

At platformOS, we recognize the essential role of a well-designed, scalable community solution in supporting our partners and clients. While our long-term vision includes delivering a dedicated pOS Community Site, our immediate focus is on enhancing the platformOS Community Solution—ensuring it becomes a market-leading, adaptable product before expanding further.

Strategic Focus: Laying a Stronger Foundation

We are refining our approach to first improve the Community Solution’s usability, feature set, and design, creating a high-quality foundation that serves both existing users and future adopters. Strengthening the Community Solution first allows us to provide a product that partners and clients can adopt, customize, and expand upon, making it a valuable asset within the platformOS ecosystem.

Our improvements are guided by insights from previous research and learnings from past community solution-based projects, including:

  • Direct partner feedback

  • Competitor benchmarking

  • Community best practices

  • Lessons learned from implementing and iterating on past community solution projects

Currently, we are also conducting a structured UX audit to evaluate functionality, navigation, information architecture, and usability, ensuring the solution aligns with modern community needs. This includes:

  • Identifying quick wins for rapid implementation to deliver immediate value

  • Refining the user experience to better support organizations using the platform

  • Ensuring a seamless, scalable community environment

Next Steps

  • Ongoing UX iterations – Iteratively implementing design improvements and validating updates with user and admin feedback.

  • Strengthening the Community Solution – Delivering a scalable, adaptable product that supports both internal and external community needs.

  • Laying the groundwork for the pOS Community Site – While the Community Solution is our priority, we are ensuring that its architecture, design decisions, and feature set align with the future pOS Community Site.

By refining our strategy, we are building a stronger, more versatile community solution, setting the stage for future expansions while continuing to support our partners’ evolving needs.
